Verwendete Techniken

In meinen Bildern habe ich unterschiedliche Techniken angewandt. Hier stelle ich einige davon vor.

Waxs and Pigments

In the beginning there was a paper tablecloth. On it were imprints of glasses and plates, red wine stains, small grease stains and the imprint of a used fork. One imprint, of whatever, could be interpreted as the face of a teddy bear. If this tablecloth is held up to the light, you have a picture that both documents processes and gives room for your own interpretations. This is how I wanted to make pictures; to show two sides of a picture in one: Image and its intention, interpretation and counter-interpretation.

I use plotter paper because it is quite thin. I draw on it with wax colours, which I sometimes heat. The heated wax makes the paper appear transparent. Since the wax crayons available for sale are far from my colour ideas, I make them myself with pigment and different types of wax. Another way to create transparency is oil, which can also be pigmented.

Always both sides of the paper are processed. In transmitted light, the image changes.

Watercolour, Wax and Pigment

The technique mentioned above first developed from this. I laminated solid watercolour paper on plates, painted it and painted, drew or spatulaed over it with wax crayons.
